• ABCT ABCT stands for the Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies, a professional association.
• ANDC ANDC stands for the diploma of the Centre de Relation d'Aide de Montreal, a French-language school for the training of psychotherapists located in Montreal.
• AOCA AOCA stands for Associate of the Ontario College of Arts, one of North America's most respected and oldest sources of training and higher study in the fine arts and now a degree-granting university in all aspects of the creative media.
• ASK ASK (Adoption Support Kinship) is a community-based not-for-profit organization in Toronto dedicated to providing support around adoption search and reunion. It provides support to all members of the adoption community at all stages of the search and reunion process.
• BA BA stands for Bachelor of Arts, a university level degree.
• BEd BEd stands for Bachelor of Education, a university degree.
• BFA BFA stands for Bachelor of Fine Arts, a university degree.
• BSW BSW stands for Bachelor of Social Work, a university degree.
• BSc BSc stands for Bachelor of Science, a university degree.
• CAOT CAOT is the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, some of whose members also provide psychotherapy.
• CAPT CAPT is the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy, an association of psychodynamic therapists advancing knowledge of the psychodynamic modality.
• CCA CCA is the Canadian Counselling Association, a national and bilingual organization dedicated to the enhancement of the counselling profession in Canada.
• COTO COTO stands for membership in the government-regulated College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
• CYW CYW stands for Child and Youth Worker, a credential for those who have undertaken professional training in the development and assistance of children and youth.
• Dip ATPPP Dip ATPPP stands for Diploma in the Advanced Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society, a private training institute in Toronto.
• DCTP DCTP is a credential provided by the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy, a Toronto-based training school operating under federal charter as a vocational training institute.
• DT DT designates a Drama Therapy specialization at the post-graduate level, granted by Concordia University in Mantreal.
• Dip GIT Dip GIT stands for Diploma of the Gestalt Institute for Therapy granted by the Gestalt Institute, a private training institute in Toronto.
• Dip PEB Dip PEB stands for Diploma in Psychotherapy and Emotional Bodywork, granted by the Institute for Psychotherapy and Emotional Bodywork, a private training institute in Toronto.
• LCSW LCSW stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker, an American credential describing a social worker trained in psychotherapy who helps individuals deal with a variety of mental health and daily living problems to improve overall functioning.
• Dip NSPC Dip NSPC stands for the diploma awarded by the New School of Psychotherapy & Counselling.
• MDiv MDiv stands for Masters in Divinity, a university post-graduate degree.
• MA MA stands for Master of Arts, a university post-graduate degree.
• MEd MEd stands for Masters in Education, a university post-graduate degree.
• MTC MTC stands for Masters in therapeutic Counselling, a university post-graduate degree granted through the United Nation's World Health Organization.
• OACCPP OACCPP stands for the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists, a professional association in Ontario.
• OSP OSP stands for the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists, a professional grouping of psychotherapists based in Ontario.
• PhD PhD stands for Doctor of Philosophy, a university post-graduate degree granted in many specialty areas.
• RelPsych(Dip) RelPsych(Dip) stands for Diploma in Relational Psychotherapy granted by the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy, a private training institute in Toronto.
• RIHR RIHR is a membership designation granted by the Canadian Examining Board of Health Care Practitioners.
• RMT RMT stands for Registered Massage Therapist a credential granted to members of the College of Massage in Ontario.
• RN RN stands for Registered Nurse, a credential of the government-regulated College of Nursing in Ontario.
• RPC RPC stands for Registered Professional Counsellor, a designation granted by the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association.
• RSW RSW stands for Registered Social Worker, a credential of the government-regulated College of Social Work in Ontario.
• RYT RYT stands for Registered Yoga Teacher.
• TFM TFM stands for Therapeutic Family Mediator, a certificate granted by the University of Toronto.
