The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.

~ Derek Walcott

My approach

My approach engages you in the work of coming to a sense of personal wholeness, discovering your gifts and fully living your life purpose. In our sessions you will learn how to make peace with your past, recognize and heal limiting beliefs about yourself, develop self-compassion and reconnect to the sacred in life. I believe we are each a unique and valuable presence in the world and as such I am respectful of all cultures, faith traditions and sexual orientations. I interact with clients on a one on one basis, in groups or in weekend workshops. Many of my clients choose my ninety-minute 'extended session' option though others prefer a standard one-hour session.

Some reasons that people come for therapy with me…

Those who engage in therapy with me often:

  • are struggling with issues of self acceptance, guilt or shame and find it difficult to let go of past hurts
  • want to bring more conscious joy or renewed commitment to their relationship(s)
  • are experiencing painful life transitions
  • are grieving the loss of a loved one
  • are interested in the spiritual/mysterious dimensions of life and want to engage in a more passionate and meaningful expression in the world
  • want to reconnect with the sacredness of life and the natural world around them
  •  are facing issues or challenges associated with gender or sexual orientation
  • are struggling with acceptance from family, friends and co-workers

Training and Background

My professional career spans thirty-three years, with the last ten devoted exclusively to psychotherapy, teaching and leading workshops. My training combines nursing with a graduate degree in health promotion and an extensive knowledge of Jungian psychology and spiritual practices. I weave together therapeutic approaches from depth psychology, yogic spirituality and soul-oriented, nature-based wisdom traditions from all over the world. I have made a commitment to learning, employing, and supporting others on a contemporary path to soul encounter and soul initiation. I find that my approach continues to be inspired by teaching in the faculty of Health Sciences at York University.

My personal journey

My healing approach is heart centered and deeply compassionate - ways of being that I discovered through my own healing journey. Through many years of psychodynamic therapy and Jungian analysis I confirmed my ability to face life challenges and past hurts with courage and inner strength. I have maintained a daily personal meditation practice for almost thirty years, believing that this renews and inspires my work with others. It is my joy to offer insights from my journey to support you on yours.

Soulground Centre

In 2001 I founded the Soulground Centre for those seeking personal healing, guidance on their spiritual path and a deeper connection to soul and nature through individual therapy, small groups, weekend workshops and guided wilderness treks.

Some testimonials from past clients

Healing with Grace is like entering a magical chasm and being touched by something so deep and authentic that you are, for the rest of your life, more fulfilled, alive, and enriched with the essence of life. In whatever medium you choose to participate (one-on-one session/ workshop etc.), she inspires and guides positive, healthy and lifelong change. My own experience with her was awe-inspiring, life changing, and invaluable; a truly unique healing opportunity that surpasses all others.
Catherine W (Dance teacher)

Grace Ross has an uncanny ability to really see into another human being. Her eyes live in her heart. After she takes a good look, she then hands you a rucksack of tools that can transform your life from cocoon to butterfly. I traveled from Colorado to Ontario to meet with her, and she was worth every mile. Anyone that connects with Grace, connects with grace. I am thankful for our first session, and the continuing work we do via telephone. It is not always a picnic to dive deep, but every time I do I find a gem, sparkling a little brighter. I am enjoying the journey and my service all the more. Thank you for helping me initiate the best part of my life.
